The museum
was opened at Udhagamandalam in 1989. In this museum, objects which
are unique to the District are kept, which include timber, insects,
butterflies,
rocks, wood, carving, kurinji flower, stone sculptures, bronze works
, model of toda hut and coins. There are many tribal objects and items of
use and crafts of Tamil Nadu are displayed here. This museum is located
at the Mysore road ooty. Its nearly 2 KM from ooty main bus stand.
